As Principal Cloud Solutions Architect at RightBrain Networks, I oversee and lead multiple projects for migrating applications to the cloud, refactoring cloud deployments, re-architecting applications to be cloud native, green field application development, deep technical learning camps and more. I am the highest technically escalation within RightBrain Networks. Team members working on my projects report directly to myself. I've held a lead position at RightBrain Networks for over 3 years and will continue to take this company upwards. Leading a team of Site Reliability Engineers, producing self healing auto scaling infrastructure for numerous different applications, I specialize in Linux Cloud Environments. While designing, building, and maintaining highly available applications for our clients, I often engage in a embedded consulting role for larger organizations as they embark on their journey to the Cloud. My team and I are on the forefront of a technology tidal wave and are engineering cloud best practices every day. At RightBrain Networks I'm responsible for engineering, deploying, and managing auto-scaling, high-availability networks for various applications. Depending on the particular project, I may be either hands-on in an implementation role or more focused on overall system design. Due to my blended background in both software and network engineering, I’m also very comfortable in a DevOps function. In my position I have a heavy focus on Infrastructure management, Configuration Management and Continuous Integration. Recent, notable projects include:- Developed and continue to facilitate multiple level training courses in the subject of CloudFormation, a infrastructure as code tool for Amazon Web Services. Delivered in classroom format onsite at Intuit. - Deployed 8 tier architecture in Cloud Formation fully provisioned with SaltStack Configuration Management from scratch in under 2 weeks time. - Developed a repeatable AWS deployment of over 50 different type of application servers in high availability. I as a onsite consultant with knowledge of best practices in a dynamic and programmable infrastructure helped bring a teams goal to success on their first initiative to the cloud.- Consulted on a highly-available deployment of Nginx for the University of California, Berkeley. A reverse proxy system for multiple API's with authentication.- Collaborated with Chrysler’s network security team to connect an Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) into their primary and secondary datacenters. Solution utilizes multiple redundant IPSec VPNs tunnels and advanced routing.- Designed and deployed a highly-available AWS deployment for a client in the healthcare industry. Deployment spans three applications, multiple environments (test, staging, demo, production), and uses more than 50 EC2/RDS instances and autoscaling groups. Release process is fully automated using a combination of Salt Stack, GitHub, Jenkins, and CloudFormation templates.

Provided telephone and email-based support for Barracuda Web Filter (content and malware filtering) and Barracuda Backup (automated on-premises and cloud-based backups) products. I consistently obtained 95% customer satisfaction ratings, among the highest in my department. Additionally, I regularly exceeded my typical tech support responsibilities to provide engineering support to organizations of varying sizes.
