Managed the layout & optimization of mechanical systems on all yachts, and responsible for design and development of options & custom installations. Constantly integrating the design process for new and improved ideas and applications. Developed mechanical components and renderings for machine shop fabrication by working with AutoCAD and Rhinoceros 3D modeling programs. Responsible for mechanical systems schematics simplified and made presentation ready for owner’s manuals. Accountable for preparing, documenting and maintaining RINA (Registro Italiano Navale) certifications for all new models, as well as documenting NMMA certification. Designed fresh water systems, gray water systems, black water systems, bilge systems, steering systems, A/C systems (both direct expansion & chilled water systems), engine and generator cooling systems, fuel systems, back-up pump systems, shafts, trim tab planes, struts, and tie bars which are all currently used by Bertram Yacht.
