About Derek Engles

I am the founder, developer, and content creator of Somm.Site, an educational platform designed to inspire and educate wine enthusiasts and hospitality professionals. With over 500 members from Manhattan to Mumbai, I created a learning community from the ground up, gaining more visits and traction each month.My career includes leadership roles at top-tier hospitality organizations, including Wynn Resorts and MGM Resorts International. Additionally, I have completed formal business education at Harvard Business School, ESSEC Business School, Johns Hopkins University, and Northwestern University.I hold hospitality, food & beverage certifications from The Court of Master Sommeliers (Advanced Sommelier Certificate), WSET (Level 3), The Society of Wine Educators (CSW, CSS) and the Sake Education Council (Level 1).
