I am working with Dr. Benjamin Lee and Dr. John Geisz on the MOSAIC project, which involves the design and fabrication of a luminescent solar concentrator device in collaboration with Stanford, Berkley, and UIUC. My role in the project in to optimize the bottom IBC Si cell in the tandem design and to select and characterize the encapsulants used to cement the entire structure together.

I worked with Dr. Oana Jurchescu in the Organic Electronics group studying the electrical performance and morphology of organic field effect transistors. My projects include optimizing the electrical performance of novel diethynyl pentacene transistors, designing and fabricating and apparatus for the vacuum lamination of organic transistors, and comparing the surface energy and performance of devices treated with self-assembled monolayers,

I worked with Dr. David Gundlach and Dr. James Basham on monitoring residual solvent additives and their effects in solution processed solar cells. I characterized the electrical performance of these cells using impedance spectroscopy and DC photo-current measurements, and assisted with XPS, FTIR, and ellipsometry measurements of these films. We found that the top contacts on devices with residual additive were contaminated with iodine that negatively affected device performance. I presented this work at APS March Meeting and received a top undergraduate presenter award.
