About Derek Greenfield

I love working with small teams of passionate smart people. I've worked for startups building products in medical devices, biomaterials, biofuels, and bio-based chemicals. I love learning new things and teaching others. Big fan of rare fruits, Fermi problems, ballroom dancing, and all things nautical.I have >20 granted & pending patents in synthetic biology and commercial strain scale-up. I have 3 published papers cited >200 times and I have served as the PI on 10 funded R&D grants. My life goals: Get carbon out of the air, prioritize family, go into space. ENTJ and Type 6.
