-Design responsible for reliable, high performance (60kRPM+) turbomachine for steering flight vehicle - net 2x gain in mean useful life (100 days to 200+ days), helped enable longer mission duration. -Conceived and supervised development of key Loon IP (bearing preload conditioning and prognostics for fleet operations); resulted in two IDFs. Designed and implemented related critical line fixtures for 100% key performance metric (bearing preload tester) at vendor.-Responsible for research and strategy for compressor performance and reliability improvements (High altitude variants, Athermalized designs, Dual Compressor, Next Gen compressors). Managed development streams and processes for each of these.-Managed complex equipment vendors at technical and programmatic level. Wrote highly compartmentalized SOWs to iterate fast R&D work and amplify Loon’s design capabilities given limited people resources.-Oversaw Loon Internal Vendor; managed and coordinated daily activities.-Proposed high confidence based reliability methodology for safety based systems versus reliability growth model, a first on Loon. -People manager for the reliability team for 1.5 years; supported technically and professionally.
