Technical Project Manager within Virgin MediaTechnical Project Manager / Technical Delivery Manager working with strategic voice, data and internal delivery teams to provide a transformational step change in the way in which Virgin Media’s Voice, Data and TV services are delivered.*Lead for the Security Implementation/Upgrade Programme (c£17m) delivering the next generation protection across all Virgin Media platforms under multiple projects, current projects include:1. Security Database monitoring - implementing the Imperva solution across all Virgin Media databases to protect PII data held on MSSQL, Oracle Hadoop and Netezza platforms.2. Encryption at rest of the PII data held on all MSSQL and Oracle Databases - Implementing base encryption on databases containing PII data to give further level of protection across the Virgin Media estate.

• Responsible for overseeing the daily operation of a complex technical school across 2 sites in Arborfield and Bordon delivering Electronic and Mechanical trade and equipment training for Regular and Reserve Officers and Soldiers, Royal Marines and MOD civilians.• Project Lead in the Change Management programme to merge two schools into one across 2 locations, and then move as a single school onto a new site in Lyneham in 2015. This has been accepted as the future model and making manpower savings of 5%.• Responsible for the Risk Management of the school ensuring that all business and training risks are identified and mitigated against.• Produced a robust Assurance Management system to ensure the school meets all standards as defined in Governmental Policies for Safety, Training, Financial, Business and Quality Management and Contractor Support.• Developed and instigated a Business Continuity Programme to ensure business security in the event of natural or environmental issues.• Ensuring all material and equipment demands are within financial constraints.

• Team leader within a stabilisation team (c40) delivering governance, reconstruction and development to the Afghan Government.• Project managed the delivery of 114 Police and Army bases worth $85m in Afghanistan providing the infrastructure to allow the local government to take the lead on all security matters.• Provided management and leadership when working with local contractors and international security forces, utilising cultural and political sensitivities to deliver security bases in a difficult and hostile environment.• Developed a bespoke database tool to identify key Reserve Forces personnel with specialised skills to support governance and peace operations, globally.

• Provided expert management and leadership for a team (c125) delivering and maintaining the diverse and complex military equipment that supported the peace keeping operations in Northern Ireland.• Delivered expert engineering guidance to the repair and capability delivery of equipment of 300 vehicles and electronic equipment support that had to be available immediately.• Identified and developed a strategy to return the whole support fleet into a Controlled Humidity Environment to enhance future capability.• Responsible for the Electronics department who repaired and supported specialist Electronic Counter Measures and surveillance equipment in Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan.

• Directly responsible for the management, staffing (c50), maintenance and budgeting of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineer’s Adventurous Training Lodge and Hotel in Allgau, Germany delivering recreational and adventurous training to military personnel.• Accurately accounted for the financial upkeep of the lodge and hotel with an annual turnover of £100k delivering financial stability to the business, enabling an agreement to re-negotiate tenure of the lodge for a further ten years.• Managed, Planned, recruited, financed and successfully delivered an annual intensive four week winter ski training package for soldiers (c400) of all abilities and 30 instructors in Neustift, Austria culminating with a highly successful winter sports championships for Officers and Soldiers in Les Contamines, France.

• Responsible for the management of a support team maintaining and upgrading a workshop management IT system that was delivered globally and on operations.• Project managed a £450k upgrade to the operational capability of the IT product that was placed under very tight frame for delivery – delivered on time and in budget. Utilising engineering principles and analysis responsible for re-defining the power requirements of the IT system, making savings of £250k during the procurement phase. • Improved the delivery of the change management process through filtering, impact assessment and reviews to reduce manpower overheads thus increasing team performance results.

• Acted as the lead technical authority in all military accident investigations to highlight safety issues on military equipment, including one investigation of a failed armoured vehicle, resulting in the early identification of a major manufacturing defect which made savings of £500k on future repairs.• Provided engineering advice and support to military workshops located in Germany.• Provided expert advice and updates to an engineering systems database information system to deliver engineering advice to technicians and mechanics globally.

• Responsible for team delivering equipment repairs and modifications to a fleet of mobile howitzers for the British Army.• Managed a team of technicians (c15) directly responsible for the repair and maintenance of the Optronics equipment belonging to various artillery platforms.• Managed the training and professional development of the department to ensure a coherent and fully versatile team.

Responsible for delivery of teaching to students on the electronic techniques utilised in military equipment and testing them on their practical ability to find and diagnose electrical failures.Provided a detailed and successful review to teaching packages and practices.Provided subject matter expert advice on Artillery systems to students working on a system studies during advanced technical training courses.Led as the subject matter expert in Artillery systems when briefing to higher formations and also when hosting visits.
