Bred in the days of the mainframe, today I am a cloud convert and Salesforce Jedi. Until 2010 I was very cynical about the whole cloudy thing. Then I headed a project to select and implement a new CRM system for CQS (now Caseware Africa) and discovered Salesforce and gained a whole new perspective on software. I was so taken by the potential of the world's leading platform as a service that I decided to start a new business in 2014. The result is CloudSmiths, a Salesforce Reseller and Platinum Consulting Partner and Africa's leading Salesforce partner with over 300 clients and more than 80 staff. And its still growing fast.My latest venture is SparkSmiths, a Salesforce ISV that develops apps for the Salesforce platform. Our flagship product is an event management app, EventSpark.My 30 year career including 25 years experience in information technology and 10 in executive business management has equipped me with a broad range of skills, particularly on the topics of business strategy, sales and marketing, innovation, IT alignment, people leadership and motivation.I am an out of the box thinker, who is passionate about everything I undertake. As a self-starter and motivator, I am inspired by challenge and driven to succeed. I am an accomplished public speaker, strategic thinker and dynamic facilitator, and assist companies in understanding the business implications and opportunities made possible and enabled by people and technology - some call that Digital Transformation. Oh, and I still write code. When they have tough technical problems my team turns to me to soundboard and to help them trouble shoot.
