Systems Operations Superintendent
CurrentPlans, organizes, controls, integrates and evaluates the work of SCADA operators and other support staff; contributes to the development of, and monitors performance against, the division’s annual operating and capital budgets; supervises and participates in developing, implementing and evaluating plans, work processes, systems and procedures to achieve annual goals, objectives and work standards.Plans, organizes, directs and evaluates the performance of 24/7, 365-day assigned staff.Provides day-to-day leadership and works with staff to ensure a high-performance, customer service-oriented work environment that supports achieving the department’s and the District’s mission, applies process improvement and quality management principles to assigned areas of responsibility; leads and promotes stewardship of organization and environmental resources.Plans, manages and oversees the day-to-day operations of the District distribution system, as well as reclaimed water systems and wellhead treatment and disinfection; manages and oversees the work of SCADA control room and field operators engaged in monitoring and regulating water flow throughout the assigned system while ensuring adequate pressures, residuals and storage volumes.Participates in developing recommendations for emergency operating strategies for response to a wide variety of potential system emergencies; participates in system water quality modeling for use in responding to system contamination incidents, troubleshooting water quality problems, anticipating future water quality performance issues and determining appropriate sampling locations; coordinates all system monitoring work with the Planning division.
