In fifth grade, my grandfather gave me a box of old, broken wind-up watches. I spent months disassembling and reconstructing them in the hopes of getting one of them—any of them—to start ticking. Looking out over a pile of worn out gears, my desire to understand how things work was born. As I grew older, that innate curiosity fueled a career focused on nurturing the creative ideas that make complex concepts more approachable.
