About Derek Lieu

I make gameplay trailers which tell the story of the player experience via its game mechanics.I've been privileged to work on some of the most ground breaking games in the industry like Half-Life: Alyx, Psychonauts 2, Among Us, Firewatch, Spelunky 2, Subnautica and Dead Cells.I've made trailers for over 10 years and nothing makes me happier than to see one of my trailers connect with their audience, and making the game developers proud of their own hard work when they see it through new eyes.Whenever possible I also share my knowledge via articles, talks, podcasts, and videos! I love teaching people about this niche industry, whether they're colleagues and peers or people looking to make trailers of their own.
