Responsible for product development/design of PointGuard, an industry leading Monitoring-Based Commissioning (MBCx) software platform featured by Verdantix, PropModo, and CreTech. Managed a team of multi-stack software developers to combine SkySpark fault detection technology and other third-party technologies with engineering best practices and open source code, resulting in powerful tools for HVAC and energy performance. Also managed the mechanical engineering team’s delivery of “managed service” (MBCx) using the platform.

Responsible for early growth of the Abundant Power Solutions division of Abundant Power Group, leading the winning RFP responses for EE/RE finance programs subsidized by federal ARRA funds – AlabamaSAVES, StLouisSAVES, and CharlestonSAVES – programs recognized by the US Department of Energy’s Better Buildings program for a major part of Abundant Power’s total funding of $238 million in energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. Responsible for the technical design of the SAVES (Sustainable and Verifiable Energy Savings) programs. As part of financing program work, developed a shared-savings retro-commissioning model and service, which eventually evolved into the PointGuard MBCx software platform.

Energy Efficiency Retrofits, Retro-Commissioning and MEP Engineering.

Mechanical Engineering, primarily for biotech clients. Worked on Pfizer campus upgrades in La Jolla, a turbo-charged laboratory retrofit for Becton Dickinson in La Jolla, and a huge new private laboratory (4,800 ton chiller plant capacity) on the San Francisco Bay.

Project Manager and Lead Engineer on church projects, retail, a high-rise condo, and a children's museum seeking LEED Gold.

Performed energy analysis and mechanical design for multiple LEED projects. Highlights include Clemson fraternity quad renovations, Living Learning Center at USC-SC with largest solar thermal array in country at the time, Imaginon children's library and theaters in uptown Charlotte, Greater Columbia Convention Center, UNCC Science and Technology Building (with large vivarium), Furman University's LEED Gold Hipp Hall, and CPCC's IT Building on the Central Campus.
