I am the IT Character, looking after the internal network and infrastructure. One of my focus areas are the design and implementations of the IT system and cloud solutions. Apart from this role, I am also a MENtor on e Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. My passion is to build boys into Good Men. We built custom cloud solutions for any size business by analyzing their current IT infrastructure and streamlining, securing and optimizing it. I started out by studying everything Microsoft and honing in on cloud based technologies. But I wasn’t able to look after all my clients the way they needed to be so in 2009. From all my time in server rooms and late nights in IT centers I have taken note of the enormous expense that is shelled out when that little box of data goes down for whatever reason. The world of work doesn’t look like it did 20 years ago anymore and an office is not a building, it’s wherever your laptop can find a wireless connection. And if you can’t access your email from the airport, home or waiting for the next meeting, the downtime costs money. This is where an effective cloud based infrastructure can ensure that not only is your data accessible all the time, from any location but its also secure and compliant to regulatory standards. You only need to lose your phone once to understand this inconvenience of trying to remember every family member’s birthday and regret that you didn’t back up all the photos and videos of your kids. But in this case the loss is emotional- think about the scale of this loss on a business. The downtime whilst trying to recover accounts, invoices, tax implications, and the loss of mountains of communication that results in a risk that could sink a business.
