Origin was established from a number of pre-existing Agri, FMCG and Manufacturing businesses. I joined in 2007, as the first CIO. I developed the IT function into a group-wide shared service. I established the program, to select, implement and support a new group-wide ERP and Business Intelligence application set. This was implemented on time and budget across 11 UK & Ireland group companies achieving annual operating cost savings and a reduction in working capital. This program won the “Excellence in ICT Award” from the UK Manufacturer magazine in 2012. I successfully led IT due diligence across 9 acquisitions, followed by the completion of the subsequent integration projects which varied from loose integration to full assimilation depending on the business drivers. I led the development and implementation of Origin’s digital strategy including the rollout of digital applications used in-field by Origins crop advisors. I was General Manager of a 30 person customer facing business unit (Decision Support Services – DSS) in the UK. DSS brought to market new digitally enabled services and tools for our farming customers. I brought forward a concept to develop Origin's capability in data science and analytics, which led to a "Data Labs” partnership with University College Dublin.As a result of my work in Origin I was shortlisted for the “EMEA Business Visionary Award” by Microsoft in 2014. -

I led the strategy to carve-out SBS into its own legal entity and established from a zero base its own Finance, Marketing, Contracts and HR functions. In my time in SBS I led its turnaround from a loss making business into a position of sustained profitability, including topline growth of over 500%. Headcount grew from 56 to 525 people as we became one of the leading organisations in the Irish IT services marketplace - focussing heavily on leading, developing and empowering people to drive success. I led two internal acquisitions to establish two new service lines, specifically; o Rich Internet Applications, via the assimilation of the BBC’s Emerging Platforms division in Belfasto Outsourced IT Service Desk and Customer Service, via the assimilation of the Siemens Customer Interaction Centre in Cork During my time, SBS won sizeable new-name business contracts from blue chip organisations. SBS successfully led the development of the Animal Health Computer System for the Department of Agriculture & Food which won a "Public Service Excellence Award" in 2006. The project was identified by the Comptroller & Auditor General as a major e-government success.I was also a member of the Executive Management Board of Siemens Business Services GB&I and Siemens Ireland Senior Management Team. SBS Ireland won the Siemens Award for Highest Customer Satisfaction in 2006.
