He became Managing Partner in May 2011. Although previously a corporate and commercial lawyer helping businesses and their owners achieve their objectives, Derek’s time is now devoted to management and strategy as the firm continues to grow. As Managing Partner, Derek takes the lead in developing and implementing our strategy for growth. He chairs our partners’ and board meetings, and works closely with the rest of the team to ensure that we know what we need to do and have the resources to do it. The firm has more than trebled in size since 2012.MembershipsDerek is a former member of the IoD Berkshire Committee. He is also a director of LawNet a leading network of independent quality law firms. He was a finalist in the IoD London and South East Director of the Year Awards 2017 (for his role at Gardner Leader).
