Company Officer (Captain)
Current• Respond to emergency incidents as an officer of a firefighting company; perform a variety of firefighting, rescue, hazardous material, and other functions, including Incident Command Officer• Implement department goals and objectives, establish work priorities, schedule and coordinate work to be accomplished per shift • Responsible for daily log, emergency calls and reports, and injury reports• Participate in daily training exercises and classroom lectures, and prepares and conduct training for the department, when assigned• Conduct pre-fire plans, supervise shift inspections, assign work projects, and approve completed work• Conduct demonstrations, tours and public speeches on fire safety, fire prevention, fire extinguishers, first aid, and other subjects to the public• Respond to general public complaints, requests for information and guidance• Cooperates with surrounding departments in firefighting and rescue efforts• Maintain discipline and ensure that personnel follow department rules and regulations• Responsible for cleanliness of the station and maintenance of apparatus, tools, equipment, and all other Fire Department property• Accomplish such other duties as may be assigned
