About Derek Thomas

I am a senior ICT leader, experienced in working with managed services partners, internal resolver teams, project teams and business stakeholders to develop service solutions to support the business objectives. I enjoy working with business units to ensure that IT is seen as an enabler. My focus is very much on ensuring that we deliver the business outcomes.I have undertaken roles as Head of service delivery and Service Management in both permanent and interim positions managing teams of 50 engineers across the UK. The prominent part of my role has been within managed services providers though my current role is as the end customer within the charity sector. I strive to make a difference in any organisation that I am working for, my drive and the ability to look at challenges holistically has allowed me to provide effective solutions that better meet the needs of the business. Having worked in a customer as well as service provider organisations has resulted in more fruitful and beneficial negotiations with suppliers and communication with end users where perception is paramount.
