Since joining Pond5, I have been a member of the Enterprise Team who are responsible for developing several new business features for both the customer facing Pond5 site, http://www.pond5.com, as well as the backend admin CMS. It is a very fast-paced working environment and I have worked on several high priority projects in my time there, with development teams based in Dublin, Prague and New York.As well as being a senior member of the web development team, I have also worked very closely with the development manager of this team in a management capacity. Some of these additional responsibilities have included; hosting and running team estimation sessions, sprint planning meetings, hosting sprint retrospective meetings and meeting with senior business members in our New York office to refine requirements. I have also been heavily involved in leading technical discussions with 3rd party companies and introducing them to our Reseller API. As well as this, I have been involved in the recruitment process for several development teams across the company.

As a member of the sportsbook team, my primary responsibilities were to develop and support applications used on the sportsbook site, http://www.paddypower.com, although during my first year with the company, I also had the chance to work on most of the e-gaming sites (casino.paddypower.com, poker.paddypower.com, bingo.paddypower.com)Projects in which I was involved were built using a wide range of both frontend and backend technologies which were geared towards both desktop and mobile browsers. This has allowed me to grow as a full-stack developer who specialises in both Javascript and PHP.Development of all projects would have used scrum methodologies and as a result, I am very experienced with working as part of an agile team, delivering tasks in sprints, participating in daily stand-ups and collaborating closely with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Quality Assurance Engineers and UI/UX designers.In June 2014, I was promoted to deputy team lead for the sportsbook webdev team. This new role consisted of providing support for my team lead in the planning of projects, delegation of tasks to other members of the team, mentoring other team members in technologies with which they were not familiar and conducting interviews for potential candidates to join the team.
