I created and implemented hands-on materials for teaching World Cultures, Geography and History.Taught seminal reading selections from Great Books authors, historians, theorists, and philosophers as well as, key historical figures through a guided reading practice which models critical reading and annotation skills in a supported, accessible text format for middle schoolers.Guided students through historical research writing competitions like the Houston History Fair, Texas History Fair, and National History Fair. My students always placed first or second in the Houston History Fair advancing to State and even to Nationals. Additionally one of my sixth graders became a published author in the Texas Historian as a result of her History Fair paper.
