The Senior Director of the McCarthy Center is responsible for advancing the strategic plan and overseeing all areas of work with the scope of the Center. In order to fashion a more humane and just world, the mission of the Leo T. McCarthy Center for Public Service and the Common Good is to educate leaders committed to lives of ethical public service by implementing academically rigorous programs, cultivating authentic community partnerships, and creating transformational experiences. In addition, the Senior Director works with Center staff to maintain liaisons with local community partners including elected officials, government agencies, private partners, community-based organizations and funders. Primary Responsibilities:•Supervise McCarthy Center staff, including direct supervision of the Director of Community-Engaged Learning, Director of Engage San Francisco, Director of External Relations and Program Assistant. •Understand, develop, and execute fundraising strategies to support McCarthy Center programs and operations. •Manage relationships with the McCarthy Center Board of Advisors, Committees and its leadership. •Assist in developing staff’s professional skills, e.g., presentation, writing, and evidence gathering skills. •Advise and mentor students in McCarthy Center programs and in relevant graduate and undergraduate majors. •Liaisons with local community partners including elected officials, government agencies, private partners ect.
