Hi, I’m Derick, a junior Computer Science student at USC who loves solving problems and creating meaningful tools through code. My journey in tech has taken me from optimizing AI training data at Scale AI to leading A/V setups for major events at USC.At Scale AI, I focus on improving the quality of AI datasets by developing efficient test cases and refining model accuracy. It’s rewarding to know my work helps build smarter systems. On campus, I’m part of the avionics team at USC Rocket Propulsion Laboratory, diving into the technical side of aerospace projects. I also serve as VP of Technology at Heretic Press, where I keep our digital operations running smoothly while finding ways to innovate and write tech opinion articles.Outside of work, I’m a big fan of all kinds of music (mostly 90s alternative), puzzle games, and analog photography.
