I started in the workforce at the age of 17. I worked multiple jobs because one wasn’t giving me what I wanted, and I wanted more. One was in fast food and the other in retail, all while still in school. This allowed me to learn about customer service, sales training, and the stages of the buying process. Time management and grit were vital factors, and they allowed me to graduate high school with Honors and excel at work. I continued in the workforce and came upon a job in a wholesale company where I started as a merchandise handler and, over the years, worked my way up to a management position. As a merchandise handler, I proved myself learning about buying patterns and trend recognition of buyers from the companies in our field. I gained experience from my higher-ups and the company owners and implemented them into my skill sets. I decided to change my career path and took on a riskier job as a firefighter. Here I learned about people’s motivations and how they think, but more importantly, how they operate. I developed people skills and social skills to instantly get and maintain connections and trust with people from the first meeting. A career in Accounting allows me to bring together everything I have learned thus far and become an asset to any company that I may join.
