Derk Kuiper is Managing Director of Good Stuff International, an international consultancy company specialised in water, environment and people. GSI operates globally with offices in The Netherlands, Kenya, Switzerland, Colombia and Spain.Derk is trained as a biologist (M.Sc.), with a specialization in Tropical Ecology, at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. During his studies he developed a keen interest in tropical agriculture, economics and development. While working as Deputy Director Global Freshwater Programme at WWF and subsequently as Executive director at the Water Footprint Network, he became a technical expert in sustainable water management and water footprint. His roles as director, board member and owner in various companies and not-for-profits showcase his entrepreneurial capacities and spirit.Derk is strongly logical and analytical while at the same time very creative. He is able to rapidly process large amounts of information thus enabling him to quickly grasp new issues. Derk easily finds connections between seemingly unrelated topics to create new perspectives and ideas. He allows his brain to wander and dream to create strong images and visions. He believes in people having the ability to rise above themselves to make the impossible possible.
