About Deron W. Davis

With 30 years of experience in environmental conservation and leadership, I am passionate about advancing the mission and vision of The Nature Conservancy, the world's largest environmental organization. As the Conservation Project Director for the North America Region, I collaborate with colleagues and partners across the continent to accelerate conservation impact, using science-based strategies and innovative solutions.Previously, I led The Nature Conservancy in Georgia, where I secured the protection of more than 100,000 acres of land, established a dedicated state fund for conservation, and launched a program to engage urban communities in nature. I have been recognized as a leader in nonprofit service and one of the most influential Georgians by the media and peers. I am a graduate of the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business, an alumnus of the Institute for Georgia Environmental Leadership and Leadership Atlanta, and a lifelong learner and advocate for environmental conservation and social justice.
