Derreck Pickard is a PR professional, familiar with tracking client and competitor coverage, researching relevant media and reporters, pitching stories and placing contributed articles, earned media and interviews on behalf of clients. With intelligent creative writing, problem solving and campaign ideation among his competitive strengths, he thrives under pressure and is able to succinctly communicate with internal and external teams. Derreck worked in hospitality and in the education sector, teaching children with speech disabilities and autism. He has also lived and worked in England and traveled the world extensively. Derreck graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communications from California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), where he was an active member of PRSSA and the university’s Titan PR firm. In addition to leading a team responsible for all social media accounts and the Titan website, he helped create and implement comprehensive communications plans for local businesses, one of which was a tech startup focused on drone imaging.
