Launch Vehicle Certification Manager
CurrentI am responsible for the development and execution of launch vehicle certification strategies for NASA’s Launch Services Program at Kennedy Space Center. Through these certifications, we expand the portfolio of launch services available to NASA’s scientific spacecraft community and foster growth in the developing commercial launch vehicle market. I work closely with Program and Technical Management teams to assess internal/external needs and to strategically focus technical resources so that NASA is postured for success in near and long term objectives. I lead small, multidisciplinary teams of technical experts for advisory missions and more risk tolerant certifications while also leading groups of talented leaders for the execution of more complex certification efforts. I serve as a focal point for engagement with NASA’s Human Landing System, NASA’s Commercial Resupply, and the United States Space Force’s certification teams. By cultivating relationships among the government teams, it has allowed for greater government insight, limited the use of unnecessary resources, and alleviated undue burden to our industry partners. Active and completed certifications to date encompass vehicles from both new and established launch service providers and range in risk tolerance.
