About Derrick S. Bush

I have a penchant for discovering unmet needs and untapped niches and quickly devising a profitable solution. Several years ago, I spotted an opportunity in my own backyard. In the Permian and Delaware Basins of Texas , there are hundreds of hydraulic fracturing crews who had very limited food options due to the remoteness of the area. With no prior kitchen experience, I set out to fill that need. Within 6 months, we were the most sought-after caterer in the area. Delivering the best quality food at affordable prices, we grew revenue over 440% in less than 6 months. Yes, it took some courage to make that leap into entrepreneurship in an unfamiliar industry, but I was inspired by role model, who reared me, a quadriplegic—he taught me how to strive for far-reaching goals and succeed.
