This position serves as the primary liaison to ensure proficient and accurate processing of the hiring of Non-Faculty Researchers (NFR) for Worcester Polytechnic Institute faculty research projects. The role involves interfacing with the hiring department, Finance, Talent & Inclusion, and the International Faculty and Scholars' office to obtain and verify proper documentation. Additionally, I assist the Director of Operations in the Vice President for Research and Innovation (VPRI) office in planning, executing, and following through on the day-to-day operation of special projects and cross-cutting initiatives. These initiatives aim to bring together WPI and external stakeholders for participation in research projects. Projects include supporting the development of relationships between WPI faculty, students, visiting scholars, local, state, and federal organizations, as well as the business community and corporate partners.

Work closely with SVP and Provost to plan, initiate, execute and follow through on day-to-day operation of special projects, global, and cross-cutting initiatives. Bring together WPI and external stakeholders to participate in these initiatives, foster communication, facilitate events, and support participation to strategically move initiatives forward. Projects include working with and facilitating high level relationships between WPI faculty, students, visiting scholars, advancement colleagues, international universities and the global business community.

Works with individuals and families who need emergency assistance such as food, clothing, utility and housing assistance, and in some cases referrals for additional counseling or supportive services. Maintains the Worcester Area Office food pantry; Ensures that our available inventory remains steady, coordinates with volunteers for all food deliveries and donations, and helps to maintain accurate, updated client files, managing staffing, volunteers, budget, and daily operations.

•Comply with policies set forth by Catholic Charities and comply with regulations set forth by Department of Developmental Services and the State of Massachusetts, to include the reporting of suspected abused or neglect.•Ability to present oneself professional and pragmatically to program participants, families, guardians, the business community and representatives from others agency.•Provides training supervision and assume responsibility for all individuals on community work sites and activities.•Participate in regular meeting, in-service training and other staff development activities.•Transport or accompany individuals to and from volunteer and/ or community work sites.•Other duties as assigned!

• Perform in depth State and Federal legislative research, tracking, and reporting.• Monitor Federal and State policies that affect chronically ill patients by attending briefing and preparing summaries about how the policies apply specifically to the arthritis community.• Maintain legislative tracking data for bills put forth in all 50 states for 8 regional representatives.• Promote the Arthritis Foundation and the CDC Arthritis Research program through meetings with Senators and Representatives on Capitol Hill.• Create advocacy educational materials for children in grades K-12 for Juvenile Arthritis Conferences.Educate Capitol Hill staff to ensure that the needs of the arthritis community are considered during policy creation.• Track to confirm the shortage of pediatric rheumatologists in all 50 states and created a map of findings.
