Originally hired in as a shift lead man, promoted into the engineering department in a few short months for my keen problem solving abilities to bring a machinist touch to new valve designs. Became very familiar with SolidWorks for solid modeling and designing of our new product lines as well as introduction to MathCad and Finite Element Analysis. Promoted after six months in valve engineering to process engineer in manufacturing to bring much needed help and organization to the workflow in the shop as well as assist in programming in Gibbs Cam.Very familiar with auditing processes and procedures and played a key role in us passing our API 6A audit by rewriting our procedures for engineering and sales as well as creating all of the pertinent documents to ensure we were in compliance, also played an identical role in assuring we passed a Cameron audit that resulted in our facility becoming a class 1 vendor for all of Cameron.Help to create, implement and maintain new processes for all parts of existing and new parts and products. Responsible for opening and closing of the shop. Delegate responsibilities of parts to be made and machines to be run, help create, troubleshoot and edit programs and machines as well as assist all machinist with any problems from set up to first article inspection. 5S, lean and 4DX systems implementation for organization, including a very extensive shadow board/work station design consistent throughout the entire shop.Dealing with all new and varied coating specifications.Exposure to Gibbs Cam and SolidWorks.

Coupled with all of my other work responsibilities from the past as illustrated in my previous work history below. I learned several new things working here. Some of these include.Helped to get a new shop with all new 7 and 9 axis machines up and running with new tooling, measuring equipment and everything needed to start from scratch. Learned how to proficiently set up and run Okuma Multus machines and do very intricate pieces and transfer jobs on them. Helped the company install, level and set up two new machines.Responsible for many of the organizational changes from where things were kept, router procedures for jobs, tooling and insert ordering and general work flow distribution and programming.Responsible for helping to implement and run a second shift as well.

My work responsibilities included, but were not limited to the following: Machining, training new machinists, programming in Esprit from SolidWorks files, logistics and planning of jobs, overall shop supervisor, inventory control, purchasing, data entry into M1 and sharepoint file systems. Found solutions, new methods and tooling to make our production and quality increase. Routine extended machine maintenance and repair. Trained new machinists to our procedures and processes or trained people who have never machined before on how to machine and set up their own parts who are currently running the shop after my departure.Supervised the entire machine shop, made programs, published documents to our internal catalog software systems.Monitored other machinists and make sure all jobs are done on time and that everyone stayed on track towards completing our objectives.Wrote, edited and published programs in Esprit from Solid Edge solid models.Learned the ins and outs of Esprit programming software coupled with SolidWorks for importing and programming from solid model files and am now familiar with Predator DNC and CNC editor, this is on top of all of my previous machining experience. Before my 90 day probation was up my supervisor informed me he would like me to be a “supervisor” for the shop and I feel from their comments I had met and exceeded their expectations.

(5-6 Years) Mill/Lathe (Haas, Viper, Yang, Cincinnati)Machine shop foreman both in day and night shifts.Learned how to read the important G codes and M codes required to make the machines I operated work. Responsible for making set ups on the CNC lathes and Mills. On screen or at the machine edits are part of day to day machining processes for me. Use precision measuring equipment to check any and every dimension of the parts I am working on, both in process and as they are completed to assure 100% compliance by making sure all tolerances and standards are met or exceeded. Have to hold tolerances within .0005 on a regular basis. Learned the basics of machines in the shop such as balance or vibration equipment, CNC saws and manual mills, lathes and drills. The primary machines I have operated are HAAS (VF-3, VF-5, SL-30 and SL-40) as well as one Viper CNC mill. All my programs that I receive are written in Mastercam 9/10. Capable of reading and understanding what is on blueprints and drawings. Talk frequently to vendors and customers to help maintain the order and keep the workflow at a steady pace if the supervisor is busy. Often ordering materials, finding or creating purchase orders or calling customers to let them know their orders are completed.
