At VSC, my main roles are to manage our volunteers, and to advocate in various capacities for community members in Montgomery County, PA. Montco has almost a million people in it, and rapidly growing in population. Because of this, more instances of sexual violence and other crimes are increasing. Our work supports survivors, but also educates various stakeholders to prevent crime from happening in the first place. My main skills used in this position are advocacy and passion for helping marginalized people, relationship building with stakeholders varying from survivors to elected officials, and evaluation of programs and processes to make sure we are constantly growing in capacity to support communities.

-Co-facilitate 4th grade homework and help students grow by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities and to tackle challenging tasks-Support children's emotional and social development, encouraging empathy and understanding of others-Creation of BASEC Book Club, which develops inclusive mindsets and literacy through the arts. In community, we reflect on: books & storytelling, film, news, music, and face to face social settings

-Co-Advise the Waltham Group, the largest student organization at Brandeis University, with 19 programs and over 750 volunteers-Advocate for students needs, projecting their voices to University officials-Challenge student growth through leadership experience across multiple community and educational settings-Training coordinators of the Waltham Group to improve their practices, giving pertinent advice when making meaningful decisions, and collecting data to keep a strong record of programming

-Taught English as a foreign language to 16 classes per week of 50-80 high school students per class in rural Hunan.-Managed lesson planning, curriculum development, and peer teacher training.-Conducted weekly English Corner as an extracurricular to students, which served as an extra training and support system in their English studies.

-Assisted in the creation and implementation of behavior treatment plans using Applied Behavior Analysis for children aged 4-23 on the autism spectrum.-Provided therapy for clients with a severe lack of verbal skills engaging in self-injurious and aggressive behaviors.-Completed and maintained accurate data and reports regarding clients’ histories, progress, and services provided.-Conferred with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve clients’ behavioral difficulties.-Provided classroom support and mental health counseling for at-risk youth, encouraging the clients to express their feelings and discuss what is happening in their lives, helping them to develop insight into themselves or their relationships.

-Interpreted data on logistics elements, such as availability, maintainability, and reliability. -Submitted specific chemical information to customs for clearance. -Informed clients of factors such as shipping options, timelines, transfers, and regulations affecting shipments. -Resolved problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, import air shipments, and customer issues.

-Taught students martial arts curriculum (Isshinryu)-Instilled core values with discipline of the mind through discipline of body, and the development of a positive winning attitude-Taught women's self defense classes regularly.

-Consulted with customers by telephone or in person to provide information about products and services, collect deposits and payments, cancel accounts, and obtain details of complaints.-Reviewed cancellation requests sent in from agents, verifying the data and processing the requests.-Assisted lead company historian with curating old policies, along with pictures and important documentation.

-Met with board members and class adviser to discuss issues, coordinate activities, determined Class Gift.-Reviewed and negotiated submissions with board members for teaching awards.-Organized speech for graduation, presented prestigious award to faculty member, presented Class Gift.
