Additionally, we provide monetary financial assistance from our goods & services and crowd fundraising efforts to under-served youth pursuing their higher education and/or youth uplifting their local communities. To date, over 500,000 youth and their families have been supported both directly and indirectly by our gifts and services.- Curator of “The JUST BE campaign.” which is a social movement to allow ALL people to “JUST BE”!!! “The JUST BE campaign.” is meant to help dismantle current and historic systemic forms of oppression or indifference, foster anti-racism, eliminate hate, and activate individuals both personally and professionally to choose themselves and love themselves honestly, authentically, transparently (by put your H.A.T.’s on first).- Led projects/workshops/lectures/events for One Aim Illinois, New York University, University of Illinois – Chicago, Chicago Public Schools, The University of Chicago’s Office of Civic Engagement, Chase Bank, One Goal Graduation, MHA Labs, Ladies of Virtue (LOV), Male Mogul Initiative, Sunshine Enterprises, EBANMAN, and others to support youth, professionals, and communities both locally and nationally.

The Surge Fellowship is the signature program of the Surge Institute and serves as a best-in-class, cohort-based experience that unites, accelerates and empowers 20-25 emerging leaders of color in education. - Oversees corporate partnerships (40+), college/university partnerships (140+), civic/government engagement (including our “Equity System Change Work”), community engagement, and new strategic initiatives (including expanding our service delivery model to serve more young men of color and system change/equity work) to support 6,000+ high school, college, and alumni Scholars (students/young adults). New partnerships under my leadership: McDonald’s, Radio Flyer, Chicago Fire (Chicago’s soccer team), Task Rabbit, Choose Chicago, Discover Financial Services, Office of Chicago’s Mayor Brandon Johnson, 826 Chicago, Youth Guidance, and more.- Works in partnership with our Executive Team and Board of Directors to create and execute on an innovative and wide-reaching partnerships strategy – and then bring those partnerships to market through meticulous cross-functional/sector execution, stewardship, collaboration, and revenue generation (corporate partners fundraising goal is over $1.1 million and college/university partners fundraising goal is $140K).- Visionary, researcher, co-designer, and launched a new Young Men of Color (YMoC) Scholars Program through the power of partnerships and collective impact work; and raised nearly $1 million to fund this new program and YMoC Initiatives for the next 2 years.- Supports and participates in collective impact and coalition building initiatives that aids the vision and mission of Chicago Scholars. As well as manages a team of 3 and growing.

- Provides strategic direction to ensure high engagement of 600-700 high school seniors with an average 3.5 GPA representing 114 unique Chicago high schools and 72 of Chicago’s 77 communities.- Ensure we are using our data informed best practices and continuous improvement culture to achieve and execute program outcomes; where 100% of students apply to 5 or more selective colleges annually by November 30th; and where 90% of our students matriculate to the best match, fit, and financial-fit colleges/universities around the country annually by August 1st.- Oversees partnership management for our 192 and growing college partners where nearly 40% of those college partners provide full demonstrated financial need to our first-generation students and/or students for low-income communities. Additionally, overseeing relationship management of 30+ community-based organizations that aid in the recruitment of 1,300-1,500 students who apply to our program annually. - Manages a team of 10 full time employees with 2-3 interns that represents two departments, four sub teams, and a program/event annual budget between $250,000 to $1,000,000.

Honored to be named an Inaugural Aspen Index Impact Fellow of The Aspen Institute alongside 90+ incredible leaders.Aspen Institute Leadership Development Index Impact Fellows represent a diverse mosaic of sectors, geographies, and areas of expertise that will advance an urgent agenda focused on the research, interventions, and strategies necessary to accelerate the access to and quality of youth leadership programs nationally. The goal: Lift youth exposure to high-impact leadership programs above 50% over the next 5 years.Impact Fellows will aid in the development, optimization, and beta-testing of the Aspen Index along with co-creating the supporting learning architecture to ensure its success. This work dove-tails with major reports to be released on the future of youth leadership research and practice. Professional development program for nonprofit education leaders to build relationships with other peers in the space, deepen their ability to navigate ongoing challenges, and collaborate with other community-based education & philanthropy organizations. Additionally, have access to dynamic speakers and leaders in the greater nonprofit education equity space.

- Managed male clinical counseling, intervention, and mentorship programs in conjunction with Chicago Public Schools serving 9th – 12th grade students across three high schools; and directly impacted nearly 500 students and indirectly supported another 4,000 students at dozens of Chicago elementary and high schools.- Developed innovative programmatic events/activities (i.e. national college & cultural tours and city-wide student engagement events/activities) and assisted in the coordination of school-based data collection and program evaluation initiatives that resulted in a 50% reduction in violent crimes, 35% reduction in overall crimes, and 19% increase in high school graduation rates for program participants; leading to program growth and expansion around the city and country.- Supervised a staff of 6-8 counselors/intervention specialists and 2-4 interns/support staff with a program/events budget of $80,000-$160,000; to ensure we provided direct counseling and/or support services to students within agency policies, procedures, and programs.

- Coordinated and identified individuals who would serve as exceptional mentors and advocates to youth ages, 16-21 year old involved in the juvenile justice system; the goal was to the prevent re-incarceration and re-arrest through mentorship, job readiness training, paid work experience, job placement, tutoring, and community service.- Supported high school seniors through a rigorous college application process; while teaching 21st Century Learning Skills. This resulted in 85% of students matriculating to their first year of college.- Co-Supervised Chicago Public School students in grades 2nd and 6th at Fort Dearborn Elementary School in an after-school program designed to improve students’ test scores using an online tutoring service; students saw gains in reading and math scores by 2-4 points.
