I am currently a full time student at Rowan University. I am a senior studying nutrition. My interest for Nutrition started all the way back in 8th grade. I was overweight growing up and decided to make a change in my health for multiple reasons, high blood pressure being the most relevant. After going through my weight loss journey I started to restrict all foods that I would classify as "unhealthy". I then was at my lowest weight and started to have intense side effects such as amenorrhea, thinning hair, fatigue etc. from restricting my calorie intake and avoiding all foods I may have feared because I considered them “unhealthy”. Sophomore year of highschool I was finally able to reach out to different dietitians to help me overcome my struggles with food. I now strive to maintain a balanced diet and focus more on intuitive eating rather than restriction. After going through my own struggles I would love to provide those struggling with the help and support they need to heal their poor relationship with food. Everyone should learn to see food as fuel rather than fear.
