Dervis worked as Project Manager and System Engineer in projects committed by industries in the space business (as e.g. Thales-Alenia-Space and Kaiser-Threde), in addition to agencies/institutes such as ESA, ASI, DLR, MPE, and ESO:- eROSITA x-ray astronomy mission Optical Payload Qualification by KAISER-THREDE (KT);- Phase A study of the Optical Payload for New Hard X-ray Mission by THALES-ALENIA (TAS-I);- Mirror Module Production Organization in the frame of Pre-Phase A study for a formation flight mission by THALES-ALENIA (TAS-I);- Development and manufacturing of the 100 mirror segments for the ground-based MAGIC II Cherenkov telescope by INAF-OAB.

Media Lario Technologies is the industrial entity developing and supplying precision optical components and systems for Space & Terrestrial Telescopes, Semiconductor Lithography and Medical & Life Science.Dervis acts here as optical engineering supervisor for the development and manufacturing of EUV/X-ray mandrels/optics serving different projects which Media Lario Technologies is committed to. This involves high precision manufacturing techniques such as diamond turning, hard coating deposition and sub-nanometer superpolishing.Team leader for the technological development and manufacturing of the 27 flight quality mandrels in the frame of eROSITA X-ray mission (Phase C/D) commissioned by Max Planck Institute (MPE).

The main activity concerned the research and development of X-ray multilayer coated optics for future X-ray astronomy telescopes, in the contest of research studies partially founded by ESA (European Space Agency) and ASI (Italian Space Agency). In particular, the activities involved the metrology of X-ray multilayer mirrors and in the calibration of x-ray optics by using the PANTER full illumination facility of the Max Planck Institute.
