- I support the development of integrated external PR and communications plans to support the achievement of the charity’s fundraising, research, support and awareness goals.- I provide an effective copywriting and public relations service to the rest of the organisation, ensuring copywriting standards are maintained across the organisation- I respond to enquiries from journalists, issuing proactive news and features to raise the organisation’s profile in local, regional and national media online and in print. - I write and distribute press releases for media circulation. These press releases have been picked up across local and national press, radio and television, including BBC and ITV.- I prepare, write, edit and publish content for use across Meningitis Now’s media platforms, and support in the writing and publication of corporate publications including the annual report, and quarterly publication, Meningitis Matters which is distributed across the UK.

I edit short stories, drama scripts and novel manuscripts from people aiming to be traditionally published. I have successfully processed 12 scripts, 16 short stories and 10 novels, four of which have now been agented. I worked as a freelance editor using social media and online resources to improve my service.

- My role involved the creation of written and video content. I sourced, developed and wrote engaging stories from across the organisation and generated content in the form of blog posts, website articles and social media posts. - I wrote and distributed press releases for media circulation and built and maintained positive relationships with journalists at both a local and national level.- Part of my role involved finding new stories to tell, conducting interviews and liaising with colleagues and people we support across the organisation – including private messages, community management and direct engagement.- I oversaw the production of Cornerstone's tri-annual magazines. - Once the magazine was completed I worked closely with the rest of the Marketing and Communications team to meticulously proofread all copy and ensure it was ready for digital and print publication.- I worked with other teams by helping create content for various campaigns including Recruitment and Fundraising campaigns.

I would take minutes of meetings and organise room bookings as well as scheduling events such as the monthly writers-read and the weekly write-nights. As one of the three founders of the Creative Writing Society it was my job to promote the society on social media. I constantly monitored online PR and analytics to optimise strategy, resulting in a 566% increase in Facebook engagement (30 to 200 per post)

For three summers in a row I worked as a camp counsellor at Camp Mowana and Lutheran Memorial Camp. It was my responsibility to organise and plan daily camp activities and events for over 100 campers aged 4-17 each week. I built strong, positive relationships with co-workers, children and parents, something that is vital for the success of a summer camp.As a returning counsellor it was also my responsibility to train and lead trainee counsellors on a variety of teambuilding and roleplaying activities.
