Refining and developing the test methodology and standard operating procedures for performing fracture mechanics testing of metallic materials, including CTOD, J1C, K1C, and fatigue crack growth rate (da/dN).Attained ISO 17025 accreditation for CTOD, J1C and K1C testing (SEN(B) & C(T) geometries) in accordance with BS 7448 Part 1 & 2, ISO 12135, ISO 15653, ASTM E1820 and ASTM E399. Oversee all day-to-day operations of the lab and am the principal contact for all technical inquiries related to fracture mechanics testing.

Provided start-to-finish management of fatigue & fracture testing projects primarily servicing the aerospace and defense sector in product development, material characterization, lot-production testing and failure response.• Responsible for providing engineering support and management throughout projects.• Engineering support included: test-plan development with M&P teams, forging cut-up plans, test specimen selection and design, machine shop instructions and inspection sheets, test fixture design, test methodology development, post-test analyses, test result validation and issuing final reports.• Management included: quotations, developing project Gantt charts, leading project launch meetings, directing work flow and streamlining project bottlenecks, coordinating sub-contracts, liaising with clients on project statuses and technical issues, issuing bi-weekly project invoices and internal financial forecasts. • Contributed to quality assurance team by performing internal auditing of test procedures, revising standard operating procedures, evaluating ASTM standard updates for potential SOP revisions, assessing round-robin test results and assisting in NADCAP, ISO 17025, and customer approval audit preparation.Notable Achievements: • Developed internal process for routine titanium blisk-ring production testing that involved international collaboration between Exova Mississauga and Exova Plzen to deliver streamlined turn-around. • Further developed fatigue crack growth feature-based testing capabilities by successfully completing two simultaneous projects on critical crack detection in compressor rotor dovetail and spline features to determine product fatigue life. • Oversaw completion of an extensive pipeline certification project according to CSA Z245.1 and API 5L specifications.

Attained practical, hands-on experience conducting various fatigue and fracture tests for the aerospace and defense sector. • Mechanical tests performed included tensile, fracture toughness, drop-weight tear, load-controlled high cycle fatigue, strain-controlled low cycle fatigue and fatigue crack propagation. • Performed test-frame set-ups, verifications and calibrations of testing apparatus (temperature controllers, extensometers, LVDTs, servo-valve dynamic signal tuning and test frame alignment), test software programming, post-test analysis and results reporting. • Acquired a thorough familiarity with fatigue & fracture testing standards, specifications and accreditation requirements including ASTM standards, ISO 17025 and NADCAP AC7101.Notable Achievements:• Assisted in the development and implementation of testing procedures for critical crack size detection in unique geometric features using the Direct Current Potential Drop (DCPD) crack monitoring method. Performed best-fit analysis in establishing DCPD vs. crack-size relationships which were used to determine product fatigue life. Presented full testing procedure and analysis methodology to FAA to attain testing conformity.

• Researched regulatory documents, codes and standards as well as ASME material selection, testing and inspection requirements for nuclear reactor internals for the AECL Advanced CANDU Reactor, Westinghouse AP-1000 and the Areva European Pressurized Reactor.• Effectively processed all relevant information and constructed easy-to-read comparative tables summarizing all research. The tables were used in an engineering consulting report submitted to the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission.
