The previous 18 years or so I was employed by BHPBilliton at the their Cannington Mine Site. i held numerous position ranging from shift maintenance fitter to supervisor for for fixed plant underground and the position I held a couple of years ago was made redundent and I find myself writing this. Prior to this Peabody Resources employed me as their Maintenance Superintendent for the the decline development and later as the Maintenance Superintendent for the shaft sink at Cannington mine for the Fowler Shaft.Over the previous years my interests in work have mainly been associated with the underground mining processes, this includes high head positive displacement pumping, all aspects of vertical haulage , drill blast and ore extraction. Ventilation and basically anything else associated with the infrastructure required to successfully extract ore from underground.
