    Jargoon specialises in .Net Development using the .Net Framework to deliver distributed application solutions. Jargoon was founded in 2005. Originally a consultancy and bespoke software maintenance company Jargoon was commissioned by Thomas Gunn Navigation Services in 2007 to design and build their Voyager software product. Voyager is an enterprise scale distributed application deployed in the marine environment that is used to maintain details of and provide updates to the vessels charts and publications. Voyager 1 was released in June 2008 gaining a significant foothold in the market which permitted TGNS to recover their development costs within the first year.Voyager 7 now owned by GNS has more than 4,000 successful installations.The Jargoon ENC kernel has become the industry standard for back of bridge solutions with clients such as the UKHO, ChartCo GNS. This kernel now has over 10,000 installations. In 2013 Jargoon launched a new development program to develop a touch screen ECDIS.     The Veripos group within Susbea7 provides GNSS positioning augmentation and QC services for the offshore sector. They maintain a world wide network of reference stations that transport augmentation data back to our Network Control Centres. The servers in the control centre then consolidated, schedule and prioritise this data for broadcast via the Inmarsat satellite network.Developing procedures and strategies for the growing software department. Continuously improving the processes using a phased development approach based on the Microsoft Solutions Framework. The strategy was to port the existing unmanaged code base into managed code while factorising and modularising the software components resulting in API which became the core component of the entire product line. The software department grew to a complement of 7 comprising embedded firmware engineers, applications developers and web developers.Directly responsible for managing 2 subcontracted software companies who maintained the existing company’s product line QC, and DP. QC is a Microsoft windows based application for providing positioning and QC services to down stream applications such as survey & navigation suites. DP is a Linux based application providing real time Quality Indication of the augmentation services specifically designed of the Dynamic Positioning Market.Directly responsible for ongoing development of internal bespoke systems. This distributed system comprises a central database, service control application, a farm of primary/secondary hub servers for consolidation and broadcast of data via the Inmarsat network. Involved in selecting and managing subcontracted system design companies commissioned to design and develop the replacement mobile hardware products LD5 and LD6. Dedicated project manager for the LD5 project. The LD5 is an integrated GPS, Lband and HF Unit running on a Windows CE platform.

My time with PGL has been spent as part of the 5 strong IP team reporting to the technical director Frank Whitehead.Developed procedures and templates for formal documentation and product testing.Designed and developed Real Time Data Link using Schlumberger DataLink 2 API to gather and post process wire line log data.Designed and developed Modules to be integrated within the Schlumberger Ocean frame work.Designed and developed API for Interactive Petrophysics to allow integration with 3rd party products.Designed and developed Interactive Petrophyics generic database interface into 3rd party data stores such as Geolog, OpenWorks, ODM, OpenSpirt. This position has provided me with good experience in designing the over all architecture of integrated software systems. In particular making use of interfaces and combining .Net and win32 technologies

    All software development and maintenance is implemented using IS0 9001 TickIT accredited quality management system.Design and development of down stream field allocation and reporting system for Heather and Broom using .Net and Oracle technologies. This system uses an allocation by difference methodology modelled by Process Improvements.Integration and Commissioning lead for Heather Broom metering project. This system comprised some 40 oil and gas streams metered using a mixture of S600’s with multi stream applications and a PLC with a SoftFlow application. The Supervisor system was implemented using GeM on top of Oracle and Windows 2000 professional. Additional Well Test, Gas Chromatograph and Field Allocation packages were included in the final solution. Lead engineer for the Occidental Halul Island metering project. Leading a team of 4 engineers this system was developed in 6 months using our in-house GeM product and 4 generation language SDL. The system was implemented on top of Oracle 9i within a Windows clustered environment. Responsible for all aspects of Talisman FCA project, i.e. customer interface, operations support, software system design and development of solutions, database management. These systems run metering, telemetry, well test applications on three offshore platforms which replicate their data to the main corporate server where a user community of about 20 utilise the data for daily reporting, process optimisation and equipment monitoring. They are a mixture of Open VMS, Unix and MS Windows Systems. Software Products used to build the applications include Oracle PLSQL, C code, Aquidata’s AQMCS and SDL sequencing languages, Excel S/Sheets and Visual Basic.This position has provided me with a good experience of programming in the large for distributed systems and issues concerning real time systems and concurrency.
