Research Area- Software Development• Worked on a Thesis, where I developed a CAD software called as "4MDS" (4 bar motion design software). • Objective- To develop a first of its kind CAD software which will support both simulation as well as synthesis for revolute and prismatic linkages and can provide defect free mechanisms.• Developed using C++ in Visual Studio SDK and Qt for user interface. Graphics rendering is done using OpenGL.Implemented functionality-• 3 to n position synthesis with or without additional constraints like pivot or line constraints. • Tolerance based synthesis for removing defects like Grashof, circuit, branch and order from a mechanism.• Motion synthesis- Implemented using NURBS algorithms.• Export to Pdf- Creates a report with a screen shot and all required dimensions which are necessary to manufacture that mechanism.• Load Image on background screen- User can draw a mechanism on top of loaded image and can see how an actual mechanism will work.• Applications- In constrained motion design for CAD/CAM, Robotics and Automation, CNC tool path generation, Mechanical System Design and Simulation etc.• Check following the video to see above and some other functionality which 4MDS offers. https://youtu.be/J-FoPOW-pcM
