As the SharePoint architect and lead developer, my role entailed "solutioning" the new SP2013 web site to be mobile friendly, fast loading, and easier to manage for the 20+ content managers spanned across multiple county departments. The ensure mobile friendly pages and optimized speeds, client-side frameworks like angularJS, Bootstrap, and jquery plugins were leveraged. To ensure security, restAPI endpoints were custom created to limit exposure to the OOB restAPIs and potential malicious activity. To "jump" SharePoint versions (e.g. SP2007 to SP2013) we leveraged a couple of migration tools (using ShareGate and Content Matrix tools). These tools not only help migrate the existing content in a "clean way", but also enabled our team to enhance the Information architecture by leveraging content types, removing "local" site columns, and enhancing the site structure. -
