As the Founder & Executive Director of the Frances Thompson Education I created an organization that existed to increase the enrollment and retention of Black trans students. To achieve this goal I launched a successful fundraising campaign that brought in over $60,000 to distribute to 20 Black trans students. Since then we have gone on to assist over 50 Black trans students across the country and continue to expand into a research organization focusing on improving Black trans quality of life.

As Trans United’s Communication’s Manager I worked to realize the organization’s mission to help transgender politicians become elected to offices across the country through engaging social media campaigns, monthly newsletters to our email list. I bolstered the organization’s brand recognition by creating strategic communication plans and branding guides that I tracked the success of using Loomly.

● Increased participation and engagement by 69% while supervising 1 Lead Facilitator for hot topic dialogue group as well as Peer Educators for LGBTQIA+ peer competency program with 15 participants. ● Achieve and exceed set goals by 5% by planning biweekly meeting schedules and agendas for both groups.● Helped develop skillset and increased performance by 17% by assessing educator and facilitator performance and provided feedback and skill development.

As a research intern I worked at the Women’s Foundation of Alabama doing research poverty trends in central Alabama amongst women with children and turned the results into actionable recommendations by analyzing and compiling data on poverty trends in Alabama. Additionally, I provided administrative support to the director of communications.

● Researched predatory lending practices in Alabama and summarized findings for actionable measures.● Developed a plan to help create friendly work environments for the LGBTQIA community including research, surveying and drafting detailed plan● Increased engagement and topic awareness by creating workshop on cissexism for high school students● Helped students achieve academic goals and success by offering academic and social counseling/guidance for residents.
