Software Test EngineerSupport the work requests that are used for testing the IRS Business Master File (BMF) applications. Analyzes work such as BMF documentation, including the Program Requirements Packages (PRP), Functional Specification Packages (FSP) and Unified Work Request (UWR) for legislative and other changes effecting BMF accounts. Prepares test conditions, cases, data and predetermined results to verify that the integrity of the account is maintained and that all changes have been implemented correctly for the current tax processing year. Executes the functional software testing of the BMF and validates the results of those test cases. Reports and track problems. Report test progresses in Test Execution Matrix and/or RTVM and prepares deliverables as requested. Follows administrative guidelines set forth by test director and completes administrative tasks timely. Provides and assist with planning, developing, scheduling, integration and acceptability testing support using SQL, Endeavor, and other programming tools and technology on a mainframe platform. Other software used is Greenplum, Informatica, and Tivoli Desktop. Provide technical support for planning, installation, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of hardware and software systems. The job involves testing application programs, working with complex problems and resources to provide technical support for managers, customers, and coworkers who need advice and assistance with the system resources that are used to complete a project or to ensure the production readiness. Test application programs by analyzing project requirements, writing test scripts, and cases and use cases based on many different documentation to understand the project such as, customer data model, general transformation rules, business rules and design specification reports and any other documents that are provided using an IBM mainframe computer and all IBM applications.
