I recognize the importance of and have a passion for fostering postive development in early childhood. Catering to the needs of the individual striving to achieve a growing independence in all areas of their life.I discovered this in growing up as the eldest in close group of many younger family and friends and instinctively falling into a postive role model and mentoring demeanour. From there I went on to help a family with their daughters for a period of 5 years becoming very close with the entire family and gaining invaluable life experience in sharing part of their journey. Through this I decided to persue a career in teaching moving on to study my diploma straight after completing my hsc. I have previously work in a long day care centre in a toddler room ages ranging from 18 to 36 months, and it is that age group with which I have the highest knowledge of child development. Though in my six years employment at BH I have gained experience leading rooms catering from 6 weeks up to school age and also assisted a BEd trained team member in delivering her preschool program. I plan to return to uni and gain a BEd in primary and early years. One day I hope to be a part of creating opportunities for smaller room capacities in early years teaching environments. At present I stay at home with my children until my family feels ready with the right opportunities for me to return to work and my daughters to benefit from high quality care and education Whilst at home I have furthered my development with an interest and passion in birth and pre/post natal support. Completing a doula course Newborn Mothers with Julia Jones in April 2020. I feel that in supporting mothers we best support the development of children and I’d love to find a way to integrate my knowledge across these areas.
