As part of the master Medical Device Design, I have worked for several companies (e.g. Stryker, Hollister and Boston Scientific) and my role consisted of:- Interviewing stakeholders, such as patients, nurses and surgeons - Applying a variety of Human Factor techniques throughout the entire design process, such as performing a Task Analysis, Contextual Inquiries, Heuristic Analysis, Cognitive Walkthroughs, Expert Reviews, Usability Evaluations, Post-market Surveillance of known use errors and (u/d)FMEA's.- Sketching, rapid prototyping, foam modelling, CAD modelling, 3D printing, rendering- Making sure new designs are in line with existing regulations, such as ANSI/AAMI HE75, FDA, MDR, ISO and IEC standards- Comparing and deciding on the best material and manufacturing options for the product- Researching and applying the company product look and feel in the product- Presenting to the companies several times during the project process and implementing feedback

Design2Gather is a company that develops consumer products for mass production My role as a designer within the company:- Involved in quick sketch ideation sessions with the team- Visualizing ideas through more defined hand sketches in combination with a sketch pad and Adobe software- Participating in client meetings to define their needs and understand and incorporate their feedback in new design iterations- Creating CAD models and performing tests with 3D printed prototypes- Making renders of CAD models and presenting them in in-context shots- Preparing and organizing (online) creative sessions for a variety of companies- Additionally, working on video animation, packaging design, flyer design and website design projects

Usono is a medtech startup company that develops Smart Ultrasound SolutionsMy role as a designer within the company:- Involved in the complete design process, from research to final product development, of several (international) projects- Meetings with medical experts and customers to understand the context and define their needs- Defining problems, goals, requirements, variables and possible solutions- Visualizing of concepts by sketching and in Adobe software- Continuous prototyping of (mechanical) parts, mainly by creating CAD models in Solidworks and 3D printing- Mold design and casting of silicone- Several feedback sessions with the team during the week- Validating and testing products at multiple hospitals with stakeholders (Amsterdam UMC, WKZ as part of UMC Utrecht and UZ Leuven)- Testing of different prototype iterations on animals within a hospital Events I participated in:- Speaker at Sports Innovation Congress at High Tech Campus, Eindhoven- Visitor of Medica in Düsseldorf (world's largest medtech trade fair)- Participator at High Tech Next conference (world-changing developments in technologies towards 2030) at High Tech Campus, Eindhoven
