Serving over 400 youth directly in Ottawa's west-end, with a range of programs including: Pathways to Education, Together We Can, United Sisters and Somali Youth Support Program. Key roles and responsibilities: identify and secure new sources of revenue. Support and grow existing key corporate and community stakeholders, seek and secure new opportunities for business sponsorship, gifts-in-kind, corporate and community engagement opportunities through Signature and third party events. Led a neighbourhood based crime prevention project in the Ottawa’s west end. Developed all marketing materials, responsible for relationship management with community stakeholders, , co-ordinated community events, prepared all funding documents and reportsMajor Accomplishment● Organized and hosted two community events with approx. 300 people in attendance, including government officials, housing providers, and members of Ottawa Police Services to raise awareness of issues related to crime prevention.

Managed a $ 3.5 million portfolio to co-ordinate all youth- related events and funding projects, managed relationships with funded agencies, solved funding and program related issues, managed and supported senior level volunteers, supported annual fundraising campaigns. Major Accomplishment● Developed an award-winning program through CHEO in partnership with two Community Resource Centers and The Grocery Foundation. Secured annual funding of $120,000 with a 5-year commitment.● Secured $150,000 for a Community Resource Center and the Ottawa Boys and Girls Club● Co-ordinated and managed the “Youth Got Talent-2009” contest and community event featuring Canadian Pop Star Elise Estrada and local talent

Designed, implemented and managed all aspects of community children and youth programs for Ottawa Centre neighborhoods. Including maintaining fundring requirements, budgets, evaluation and staff hiring, training and supervision.Resource development through identifying and acquiring new revenue streams through grants, sponsorships and events. Major Accomplishment• Increased partnerships and annual project funding for children and youth programming to approx. $500,000 from $50,000 • Developed, and secured funding for, an innovative pilot project for homeless children and youth that become the Families First program.

Co-ordinated and oversaw the operations of two community resources spaces in Ottawa Community Housing neighbourhoods. Managed and supported program staff, students and volunteers and overall operations of food banks operating in Community Houses. Managed all program budgets and expenses. Managed all aspects of Community Hub, including staff team, volunteers, a $500,000 budget, strategic planning, stakeholder development and evaluation.Major Accomplishment• Increased annual organizational budget for Community Houses to approx. $500,000 from $20,000 Doubled hours of operation from 2.5 days/week to 5 days/week.
