One in six families has a loved one with a disability and patrons want to see their family represented in employment. Our diverse staff stays connected to different employers to identify the community's unmet need and fill it. Daily duties include supervising the managers and staff of life skills programs, Project SEARCH, adult employment services, program development, and expansion into neighboring communities. Responsibilities include engaging local businesses which has led to new partners joining our mission of employing diverse and valuable talent. Our team of employment specialists/job developers is creative, innovative, and technical leaders. I enjoy lunch and learns, focus groups, and various platforms to connect with employers, tour their businesses, and share insight on current equitable workforce needs. I genuinely enjoy providing all resources to clients, families, friends, strangers, and existing or new partners. At Bishop Grady Villas I continue to learn who God is and what he has done by serving others Our Employment programs continues to grow with a stronger connection to the community and development of Youth transition services in addition to our adult programs. We continue to serve those who live in Osceola, Orange, Some Polk , Some Lake and Seminole counties, as a provider through Vocational Rehabilitation. We provide customized employment, mentoring, coaching and advisement to obtain and maintain employment. Our program is very individualized. We develop those talents into the work environment while supporting the families along the way. We get to know the job seeker, intern, student, by meeting at their homes, schools, and places in the community that highlight their talents. We are trained to support their Social security inquiries, job accommodation needs, and more. We are currently in the development phase of a peer mentoring and self-advocacy project and look forward to serving more youth with disabilities. We are excited that our Project SEARCH program and work sites at the Gaylord Palms, The Hilton and the AdventHealth are extremely successful with 100% job placement For Gaylord Year 1 entering year 2 Our service is mutually beneficial for our job seeker and the employer. A life-changing experience to provide direct support and care to the individuals with developmental disabilities who lived at Bishop Grady Villas. Our goal was to increase their independence and extend life through healthy options and community participation. Having the pleasure to be a guest in their home, supporting them, connecting with their families, and discovering their talents was an absolute pleasure. It was the opportunity to learn from their needs that catapulted Bishop Grady Vilas into Magnify serving the greater community of youth and adults with disabilities.
