Both children’s books, Buffalo Train Ride and Bone Head: Story of the Longhorn, were named Oklahoma Book Award Finalists by the Oklahoma Center for the Book. In addition, Webber received the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International Author’s Award for Buffalo Train Ride. Her three professional books include: 1) Travel the Globe: Story Times, Activities, and Crafts for Children, 2nd edition, 2013, 2) Integrated Library Systems: Planning, Selecting and Implementing, 2010, 3) The Kids’ Book Club: Lively Reading and Activities for Grades 1-3, 2001, and 4) Travel the Globe: Multicultural Story Times, 1998. The latter book was named a “Storytelling World” honor title. Desiree Webber is a former library director and children's services librarian. She has a B.A. in Communications from the University of California, San Diego and a Masters in Library and Information Studies at the University of Oklahoma.
