About Desiree Yackowski
I have over 25 years of experience in the legal field. I started my legal career in 1989 as a paralegal in the General Practice Unit at Donington, Karcher, Salmond, Ronan & Rainone, PA, in Edison, New Jersey and in 1995, I joined Norris, McLaughlin & Marcus, PA, continuing my legal career assisting lawyers in the Matrimonial and Litigation departments. My experience and expertise includes, but is not limited to, initial consultations with clients regarding the process and procedure of their case; daily communications with clients, adversaries, experts, court staff and judges; prepare all pleadings and case management orders; propound and respond to discovery requests; issue subpoenas; analysis of subpoena responses; preparation of deposition questions; digest deposition transcripts; drafting notice of motions and legal briefs; perform legal research and draft memoranda; draft complex settlement agreements to divide real and liquid assets, buyouts of multi-million-dollar businesses and business interests, division of overseas properties and businesses, division of retirement assets via QDRO/DRO, drafting confidentiality agreements and releases; and preparation of trial briefs, binders and trial submissions. I have volunteered as a Bailiff for Mock Trials for Somerset County. I take part in the New Jersey State Bar Military Assistance Program, Somerset County Legal Aid, Research Center of Somerset County and Safe+Sound Somerset County and I have completed the Certified Mediation course.
