Assistant Director Of Student Transitions
The Assistant Director of Student Transitions is responsible for providing services and programs during times of major student transitions, including Orientation, moving off-campus, and graduating. - Lead, monitor, and assess all aspects of the new student orientation program for the incoming Global BFA cohort.- Collaborate with campus partners to support and communicate with incoming and current Global BFA students.- Provide support and engagement opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students living off-campus.- Assisted in apartment and roommate searches, advocated for the needs of off-campus students, and consulted with the college on off-campus population responses.- Serve as a liaison between the college and the greater Boston area via Boston Town and Gown.- Work collaboratively with academic affairs, student affairs, and various campus partners, emphasizing academic success, student development, and engagement.- Coordinate recruitment, selection, and training of orientation staff and community ambassadors.- Assisted in the coordination and implementation of all new and transfer undergraduate student orientation programs.- Managed New Student Programs and Transition communications.Key Achievements:- Recreated the transfer student orientation experience during COVID-19 by creating additional targeted orientation communication, virtual orientation sessions/meet-ups, and online resources.- It was developed and implemented a fully online orientation model for Global BFA students due to COVID-19. - Coordinated and managed the first summer of three cohorts on Emerson College’s Boston campus for Global BFA.- Negotiated revenue sharing through off-campus partners to include 3.5% of revenue back to our department with an increase annually.
