In 2012, I would have never guessed that my Resident Assistant and Orientation Leader roles would launch me into a career in Higher Education. Over a decade later, I have found myself pursuing roles and supporting students in many functional areas such as residential education, community standards, off-campus student support, global programming, and most recently, undergraduate orientation. What is the common thread between all of these roles? I thrive in a fast-paced environment that allows me to problem-solve while supporting many different student populations. Building authentic relationships with students and campus partners has been an essential part of the work I do. One of my proudest accomplishments has been leading orientation for our Global BFA (GBFA) students who are part of a co-degree program between Emerson College and Paris College of Art. I served in a leadership role planning and implementing new student orientation for GBFA students as they grow outside of the classroom between Boston & Paris since the establishment of the program in July 2019. Our first graduating class celebrated commencement in August 2022! Through this experience, global education has become a major influence on the work I do.
