I will be molding students' minds as the only sixth grade math teacher at Philadelphia. I am excited and thankful for the opportunity!

I work for Knox County Schools at Whittle Springs Middle School. I work with all grades in the school- from sixth to eighth grade. As the tier 2 math intervention teacher, I work with students to fill in the gaps of those basic math skills that they for some reason are missing. I have approximately ninety students in total. This last semester I was a teacher who floated to different classrooms to teach my classes but I now have a classroom to call my own. I implement teaching techniques based on Common Core Standards and Tennessee State Standards and then practice these in each lesson plan. Since Knox County does not have a specified curriculum for math intervention, our school uses a program called Number Worlds to work on sub skills while another group works on spiraling of skills learned up until this point. Every day is different and filled with surprises, causing me to be very flexible. A teacher in college once left me with this quote by Robert Louis Stevenson, "Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds that you plant."

I am the technology teacher at East Knox County Elementary School in the Knox County School system. After wedding planning, I will be pursuing my Master's in teaching. This is my first year teaching at an elementary school. However, working as a youth leader with students in middle and high school have helped me excel in this position. As a TA, I've enjoyed my time at East Knox County Elementary through getting to know the staff and each student. I love teaching computer class to not just one grade but to all grades; from the cute pre-k classes to preparing fifth grade classes for middle school. My experience is a blessing and brings new learning opportunities each day as I learn the ropes of being a teacher.

I work as part of a team at The University of Tennessee Foundation. As an Alumni Aide for the Knoxville campus, I report to the Senior Director of Alumni Affairs. Main function of interim position include: Leveraged areas of communications, annual giving and stewardship. Generated promotional materials and orchestrated purchasing for student programming and alumni events. Intermediary between communications and alumni office staff. Compile and revise Torchbearer magazine content. Responsible for coordinating the e-Torch submission each month by alumni staff and writing submissions for the e-newsletter, generating dissemination of Torchbearer magazine within the alumni office, writing articles for the InVOLved newsletter, alumni bi-yearly report, and will work on data integrity projects. Other activities include assistance with stewardship, alumni and Knoxville campus events, and other special projects.

I studied Advertising and Business Administration where I learned various aspects of communications to be able to not only work in advertising, but public relations, graphic design, journalism, non-profits, athletics, and events marketing as well.

Analyzed primary survey research and created survey analyses for logo change, created timeline for updated website and searched, documented, and organized PBS television station references in publications.
