Serve as part of a team that follows design specifications to create or assemble vignettes, signs and room decor for a range of events including corporate dinners, luxurious parties and even boxing matches. Items provided are often created using foam board, paint, vinyl, fabric and other materials. My duties include pulling items from stock, asset repair, cutting, mounting and assembling signage, monitoring the quality of the items we provide and prepping props/decor for transportation to the numerous venues we serve. Additionally I occasionally assist load in or load out of events on site at these venues.

As Prop staff for the world premier of The Good Book, and Court's production of The Secret Garden I served as additional Prop Shop Staff performing duties to support the productions as needed. Primarily altering, painting and creating items, in addition to addressing notes as directed by the Props Master. As a Carpenter I have took part in the strike of The Good Book as well as the entire build process through installation of The Secret Garden. My duties included interpreting drawings to create cut-lists and produce finished items using a variety of tools and techniques. These items included platforms, flats, soft goods for masking and bags for a "snow" effect which dropped petals over the stage, and was a component of a Kabuki drop I built/assembled which was controlled by electromagnets.

Twist Your Dickens or Scrooge You: This was an unusual circumstance, I was hired as an independent contractor outside of the Goodman's regular props staff to act as Props Master for this co-production with The Second City. The show was performed in the Goodman's Owen Theatre and I had access to the Goodman's stock items but most of the props for this production were purchased. Creating and maintaining a props list in conjunction with Stage Management, acquiring all of the props for the production thorough purchase, rental or fabrication. Corresponding with Stage Management, Director and Design Staff to achieve the proper aesthetic. Attending all technical rehearsals and production meetings. Loading in and out all props and furniture. Dressing the set, and maintenance throughout the run of the production.

Primarily I served as additional Prop Shop Staff performing duties to support the productions as needed. This included pulling, shopping, altering/painting or creating items as well as assisting with load in, dressing the stage space with designer direction, addressing notes or issues as they arise, then finally loading out a production when the run had concluded. In addition I served as Props Master for two productions, for those my duties were expanded to include creating and managing the props lists, and budgets, as well as communication with designers and production staff. Those two productions were the world premier of Slowgirl by Greg Pierce and the revival production of This Is Our Youth written by Kenneth Lonergan.
